Central Park, summer of either 1973 or 74 ...
The gentleman sitting mid row right was a well known concert promoter of his time, fortunately we had the opportunity to work for Chip, as we were
told his name was. I wish I could remember his full name. Maybe someone out there can refresh my memory. I think this photo was taken during
the Carol King Concert at the Great Lawn. Can't remember who I handed my camera to but it breaks my heart not to remember all the details.
What I do remember is that working for Chip was a blast. One of the coolest 'bosses' ever! He loved us and we loved him. We built fence perimeters,
helped collect garbage, set up lunch tables, hauled stage equipment, low end crap you know. To Chip. we were 'his' crew, his boys.
It was this gig and Ivan's connection with Joe sitting dead center that landed us at the Schaefer Music Festival in Central Park's Wollman Memorial Skating Rink. Talk about having THE BEST summer job EVER! My buddy and still best friend Ivan sitting next to me far right top row,
were about to have the best three summers of our lives ... .! have NO idea who the young lady to my left is, could have been Chip's assistant or his girl friend. The Schaefer Music Festival was the best job any kid could have had at such a young age. I got to see bands of the time that today are legends,
Muddy Waters, King Crimson, Ray Barretto/Machito & His Orchestra with Graciela, Willie Colon, Blood Sweat & Tears, Blue Oyster Cult,
